There are plenty of things on site, including a market, toy shop, currency exchange with a good rate, restaurant, and clothing shop. The complex sits by the sea and has two sandy beaches, plus access to the water from the rocks. I counted 10 pools, with lifeguards on duty during the day, and showers just off the beaches. It’s quiet, with no discos, and seems like a great spot for a family holiday.

My granddaughter Katya asked if we’d arrived in a fairy tale when I first brought her here 12 years ago, in 2008. That’s how it felt: roses along the broad paths, pools, playgrounds, and rocky and sandy beaches. There are big boulders where you can spot plenty of fish, shrimp, and crabs, and it’s a place children and adults can both enjoy. I’ve come to think of Fort Knox Resort as one of the best places on the Bulgarian coast. The houses are simple in design but solidly built, positioned with the wind direction and sea views in mind. The landscaping is beautiful and keeps changing, with flowers blooming all the time and lots of spots to sit and look out at the sea. There’s also exercise equipment beside the water for anyone who likes sports. It’s gated and guarded, with lots for children to do, which makes it feel safe. Being able to cook for ourselves is a plus, as is the relaxed café where we can mark a family occasion. To the Fort Knox construction company, thank you, and best wishes.
