We stayed at Paradise Beach Resort, advertised as 5 stars and ultra all-inclusive, but the experience was a big disappointment. The evening show for children included sexual innuendo, an “angel” doing a striptease and popping a balloon on a “priest's” back. It was completely inappropriate for kids. There weren't real children's activities either, just a paid game room. Other problems added up. Beach sunbeds weren't included, so we paid 30 leva for two beds and an umbrella. The in-room safe didn't feel safe: it opened just by touching the screen, without a code. We got only one small 0.3L bottle of water per person, and only on cleaning days. Restaurant staff were rude and wouldn't let us join tables, even though we were a family of nine. This fell far short of a 5-star stay. The service and management were poor, and it wasn't worth the money. I don't recommend it.

I've stayed here seven years in a row and haven't been disappointed once. The pools are good for kids, the elevators are perfect, and the staff are nice. Rooms and beach are amazing, and the restaurant has great food and an amazing view. I also love the songs they play in the elevator. Easily five stars, and I really recommend coming here!

The animation team gave the stay its special charm. They were real professionals, bringing energy, humor and good vibes, with fun activities that were well organized and drew us in. We left smiling and already wanting to return, especially for the animators. The food was a treat too: plenty of choice, lovely flavors and dishes presented beautifully. There was something new each day, and we genuinely enjoyed every meal. Our stay at this 5-star hotel exceeded all expectations.

The hotel itself was very nice, but the service made the stay miserable. The staff came across as arrogant and unfriendly, and could have been much warmer and more cheerful.

The sea view was a highlight, the food was okay, and there was an outdoor playground. The beach was only so-so, with cigarette butts scattered around. The rest of the stay fell well short of what I’d expect from a five-star hotel. It felt like a slightly upgraded post-Soviet property, perhaps a three-star place at best. On Booking..com, the rating went from 9.1 in July to 8.4 in September, while the review count fell from 1,500 to around 500. I suspect fake reviews may have been removed, though I can’t know for sure. Traveling with our three-year-old, we found the property unsafe for small children: there were lots of steep stairs, sloping areas, and sharp edges in the corridors. The kids’ club was very poor too. The staff didn’t seem interested in keeping the children engaged. They handed out blunt pencils and used sheets of paper, while five staff members sat chatting. Our room was one of the noisiest, overlooking a restaurant, despite Booking..com describing it as a park view. The restaurant played loud music until 2 a.m. When we asked to move, reception refused straight away, saying no rooms were available. We showed them rooms listed online, and they then agreed to move us, but only if we paid extra for a sea-view room. Reception staff were unhelpful, and the manager was never there in person, only reachable by phone. The elevators were slow and the lines long, even in mid-September, outside peak season. Beach umbrellas and sunbeds could only be paid for in cash, and there was no ATM nearby. The only way to get cash was through the hotel shop, which charged €5. There were plenty of other issues in the room and around the hotel. The corridor carpets were dirty, some towels were stained, and wallpaper was peeling in several places. The windows did nothing to block sound, so we could hear everything outside. The room had a kettle and cups, but no tea, coffee, or even a spoon. There was no clear information on how to reach reception. Balcony lights stayed on until 11 p.m., and the curtains were narrower than the windows, letting light in at night and in the morning. We also had no bathrobe, slippers, or toothbrush holder, so we used toilet paper to hold our toothbrushes. There was no smart TV, either, so no YouTube or Netflix. Smoke was noticeable in both the main restaurant and the rooms, and I could smell it everywhere. Lots of people were smoking on the beach too. The wine came from an unattractive barrel and tasted cheap and unpleasant. The relaxation and massage area looked neglected, almost as if it had been through a war.
