Privilege Fort

The aqua park was advertised as open until September 5th, but it was already closed when we arrived. The rooms were dirty, the food was always cold, and the staff treated guests badly. A very disappointing hotel stay. I reached out to Booking.com, whose representative tried to contact the hotel about a partial refund and an early checkout so we could move elsewhere. The hotel didn’t answer the calls or emails. When I spoke with the manager, she denied getting any emails and told us to leave if we weren’t happy. I can’t recommend this hotel.

I wasn’t a guest, but my family and I walked along the beach last night and the stretch in front of this hotel looked like a horror movie scene. It was filthy, with trash everywhere, beach furniture scattered around, some chairs partly in the water, and towels and flip flops left to rot. My six-year-old daughter was disgusted and asked why it was so dirty. I didn’t know what to tell her. You’ve got a prime seaside spot where the mountain meets the sea. Please take care of it. Calling the hotel "Royal Bay" while letting the place look like a dump is awful.

The room was a decent size, but the rest of our week here was disappointing. Cleaners came every day, yet never swept inside or on the balcony. Meals were nearly cold even as they came out of the kitchen, and there wasn’t much food for children. The pool bar only opened the day before we left, and we never saw the snacks included in all inclusive. The lifts stayed out of order until the day before we went home. I wouldn’t return. Don’t waste your hard-earned money.

My wife and I had a lovely holiday here in September 2012. Our room had a sea view, and though there were a couple of small faults, the food and facilities were more than satisfactory for the price. Some all-inclusive drinks were poor: a few spirits were almost undrinkable, and the beer was very weak even if it didn’t taste too bad. There wasn’t much to do in the evenings, but we had a good holiday overall. It would suit families and older couples.
