We booked after calling in English to ask if pets were allowed and being told yes. Google’s hotel information also says pets are accepted. But when we arrived, they wouldn’t let us through the door and sent us away. The staff were extremely rude, and we couldn’t get our money back. It was an unbelievably bad experience. If you have a pet, stay away. Also, there’s no English-speaking staff at the hotel at night.

The reception staff at the motel were absolutely marvellous. We dealt with them a few times, and they were courteous and helpful, as were the staff in the other outlets. The complex has a cafeteria, food bar, ladies’ fashion shop, and convenience store, though we couldn’t get milk. Our room was clean and tidy, with enough space, and the lift came in handy. It’s easy to find on the National Highway, about 4 kilometres outside the town it’s named after. There’s plenty of parking, and since we were cycling, they let us store our bikes indoors when we asked.

Motel Ihtiman made me feel lucky to be there, with its great location and lovely service. The room was modern and spacious, spotless, and had such flattering light, both natural and electric. There were some really useful little touches too. Totally recommend it!
