The place was extremely clean and well maintained, with a lovely garden and a great atmosphere. We got to relax as much as possible. Thanks to the manager for being so attentive and considerate. Sorry this review of the house is so late, but we'll be back with you in summer 2018! Greetings :) :)

Our room was cozy and clean, and the owners were kind and welcoming. It's a nice, quiet place. The commercial street is a 10-minute walk away, and the beach is 20 minutes away :)

Orpheus was said to have an extraordinary gift for music and singing. Legends about him describe his lyre with seven strings and tell of how he tamed the wild world with its music. He's also regarded as the founder of the Orphic mysteries, which became especially important in the Hellenistic period after Alexander the Great's conquests. His story is told in many versions. Diodorus says Orpheus was the son of Apollo, or of the Thracian king Aeager, himself the son of Lycurgus, king of the Thracians at the Hellespont. His mother was the nymph Calliope, and Diodorus also calls Musaeus his son. Greek tradition placed Orpheus a generation before the Trojan War, among the Argonauts who sailed to Colchis in search of the Golden Fleece, perhaps around 1400 BC. His life is wrapped in ancient tales, so he is generally seen as a mythical hero rather than a real person. Many hymns known as Orphic are attributed to him; they praise nature's deities and urge people to honor them with simple prayers. He's also credited with one of the poems "Argonauts." His teachings tried to soften harsh morals and encourage greater hygiene and culture. His challenge to the official Thracian royal beliefs about the afterlife and immortality may have led to his tragic end. In Greek myth, Thracian women tore him apart because he grieved for his dead wife and ignored the women around him. The oldest images of Orpheus date to 600 BC, and the ancient Greeks spread many of the myths about him. Ninety-two depictions on Attic vases are known. They show major stories, including the death of his wife Eurydice, a nymph bitten by a snake on their wedding day, and his attempt to bring her back from the underworld. His sad songs captivated Hades, god of death, who agreed to release Eurydice on condition Orpheus didn't turn to look at her before they reached the upper world. He couldn't resist looking back on the way, and she returned to the underworld. Another tale says the maenads tore him apart near the banks of the Hebros (Maritsa) River. The waves carried his body parts to the shore of Lesbos, where they were buried.

We were treated very kindly, and the patio was a nice place to eat. I stayed for two nights and found it peaceful, clean and very nice :)
