The hotel is tucked away enough to feel like a little secret, though it’s just a few minutes’ walk from restaurants, a supermarket, and sights such as the Art Gallery of Master Vladimir Dimitrov Maistora. There’s a fridge in the room, handy for keeping cheese or Bulgarian specialties to take home. The spa beforehand made the night’s sleep even better. The bed is large and the room spacious, and I slept better here than almost anywhere. Meals are cooked fresh and homemade for hotel guests when requested. Everything I tried was top-class.

We’ve already booked another two weeks for our next visit to Bulgaria. I stayed at this new hotel for two weeks during the Cherry Festival at Kystendil in 2024, and its distance from the center was just right. The employees were kind and helpful with any request or situation. Breakfast had lots of choices and was excellent. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. I’d definitely recommend it. I’ll be back with my partner for two weeks this August / September, which says a lot about how special this boutique hotel feels to me. The owner also supports local institutions, including a kindergarden, help for dogs and cats, and cultural events. Each room is individually and thoughtfully equipped, named after a star system or galaxy, and has a painting by local painters representing that system or galaxy. It’s a lovely idea for a place to sleep while exploring the universe at night. The staff take real care of guests and go the extra mile with questions and requests. I especially want to congratulate the Spa area team. They’re very friendly, and some speak very good English and German. Last year, when I had a foot issue, a lady at the Spa helped me with a massage and gave me very useful advice on treating it. Thank you! As a former travel agent who has stayed at many hotels, I can say this place has very positive energies and an outstanding spa. It feels magical, and I can recommend it from the bottom of my heart.

I found this hotel by chance and came away pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent, and the whole place is stylishly furnished. My room was spacious and very well maintained, as was the hotel overall. The spa area is especially worth mentioning.

The Sagittarius is a real pearl. We had a wonderful stay, with delicious breakfast in the morning and a relaxing thermal bath to look forward to. The interior is designed with such care, it really earns the name Boutique Hotel. Thanks for a lovely time. Eva und Kurt Mesmer Switzerland
