Guest House Coral

The only snag in our week-long August 2022 stay was the toilet smell in room 103. It seemed to come from the old structure rather than a cleaning problem. Otherwise, we had a great time, and the staff more than made up for any possible downside with their kindness. The beach is very close, the center is a few minutes on foot, and there's a shop right on the corner. Our room also had a really nice balcony, and several good restaurants are on the nearby streets. Five stars.

We had a great stay. The owner and staff were friendly, professional, and always smiling, and they did their best to make us comfortable. The hotel is small and chic, with nice rooms and a pleasant garden terrace for breakfast or an evening cocktail. It's about a five-minute walk to the beach and ten minutes to the town center and shopping area.

The room was sold as having a sea view, which is technically true, but you have to look between the buildings to spot a few bits of sea. Mostly, the neighboring hotel next to coral fills the view. Still, the hotel is lovely, the rooms are nice, and the beach is about a minute away. The staff were very friendly too. Breakfast was pleasant in general, but I found the quality of the food really off-putting. The ham seemed to be the cheapest kind, held together with lots of meat glue, and the honey was honey-flavored syrup. Similar problems applied to the other breakfast items. Room cleaning happened only at a set time. One day we were having lunch in the room, so it didn't get cleaned then. We were out for the rest of the day with the cleaning sign out, but ran out of toilet paper. It's all right if you want a reasonably priced room near the sea. Just don't expect a lot more than that.

The room had what we needed, and the bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and liquid soap. Staff were friendly and very helpful, and the location was excellent. Most of the room was clean, though places like the drawers were missed. The electric kettle still had old water in it and a nasty layer on the bottom.
