Hotel Tri Buki

The forest nearby has mushrooms, and the breakfasts are decent and not meager. The furniture in the rooms could do with changing, and the curtains look like they're from the socialist era, but otherwise it's not bad. Tri Buka hotel is on the way to the top of Mount Osogovo, in southwest Bulgaria near the Greek border, where summer can get very hot. It's cozy and family-style, with a swimming pool, so the heat is much easier to bear here than in nearby Kyustendil.

They have two detached bungalows with amazing views. Unfortunately, they were short-staffed when we arrived. The big building where we stayed needs revamping, but it's fine for sleeping before heading out to enjoy the outdoors. This place has great potential.

The house and its view were probably the only good parts of our stay. We were in a house outside the hotel. The restaurant food wasn't great, and there was no choice for breakfast. The pool was always cold and had no lifeguard. The staff weren't very polite.

Terrible stay. The rooms were extremely dirty, the staff were rude, and the food was horrible. The sheets smelled bad and had a strange residue that gave my baby a rash on his face. There was barely any warm water for a shower, and the floors were dirty everywhere. I had to wipe down the bedside tables with wet wipes because they were so filthy. I wouldn't come here again.
