Siena Premium Retreat

The pool area was genuinely nice, but our stay at Siena was disappointing. The room design looks good, though the furniture feels cheap. The family appartment’s extendable sofa is meant for two children up to 11 years old, but it’s too small in reality. The pillows are extremely hard and uncomfortable. It didn’t feel like a five-star hotel from the moment we arrived. The lobby had fake white, green, and violet plants and flowers, and the so-called parking across the street was dusty and messy. Having to wait for someone to clear the minibar before leaving is ridiculous these days, especially at the room prices they charge. We wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The room was spacious and clean, and there’s a lot to like: a great location, good breakfast, kids’ room, swimming pool, and free parking. The receptionist does need to remember to open the gates when guests are leaving. The hotel feels like a European 4-star, or a 5 Bulgarian stars. The pillows are the real problem. Siena should offer morning neck massages to make up for them. Seriously, have the GM and owner try a few pillows, and if they agree they’re bad, rate them 1 star too! There’s slow internet in room 123, no USB ports, no basic room items like a pen or notepad, and no night mode for the bathroom lights. The massage seats in the relax zone were out of order as well. And they don’t trust guests with the minibar, someone rushes to check the room after checkout. Until they replace those pillows, my review stands.

A perfect base for seeing the area. We stayed for 2 nights and found the service friendly. The rooms were large and very clean, the pool was big and nicely done, and breakfast was delicious with very generous portions.

The pool was tiny, freezing, and dirty, hardly somewhere I wanted to swim. The wellness center also wasn’t working during the day, so I’m not sure why it was advertised as part of the experience. What made the stay especially frustrating was the management. When I raised concerns, they were rude and dismissive, brushed me off, and made me feel unwelcome. I’d expected a relaxing stay at Siena Retreat Hotel, but it felt more like a tourist trap. I wouldn’t recommend it. It wasn’t worth the money or frustration, and there are better places for a relaxing getaway.
