The hosts are kind, and the place is clean and comfortable. Good value for the money ;)

The location is great, and the shade in the apartment we rented was a plus. That’s about where the positives end. At first glance the room seemed relatively clean and welcoming, despite the old furniture. The terraces had no mosquito nets. The beds were extremely hard, and the pillows so high that my daughters couldn’t lie comfortably on them. The toilet had no sanitary tape to show that it had been disinfected. The shower came apart when we turned it on. They did give us a brand new hose with a handset, which I appreciated. The bathroom light was sensor activated, but the sensor was too high for my daughter, so she had to bathe in the dark unless one of us went in with her to turn it on. The fan only ran while someone was in the bathroom, then stopped, leaving it perpetually wet. When my daughter came out, balls of hair from the carpet were wrapped around her feet. I looked for a staff member right away, but there was nobody around that afternoon. I found a vacuum and cleaned both rooms myself. Then I had to air them out for half an hour because the vacuum smelled suffocating. I left a cleaning note every day after that. The only things they did were fold a top my daughter had left on a chair, move a few small items on the furniture, change the trash bags, and clean the ashtray. During our whole stay, the towels and sheets were never changed, and they didn’t vacuum. My younger daughter had stained a sheet with her slippers, so we slept with a baby slipper print on it. I gave up in the end. We barely used the apartment, just to bathe and sleep, and I came on vacation and paid for it. I vacuum and clean enough at home, and apparently I had to do it here every day too. We fell in love with the resort and will definitely visit again, but not the Galema guesthouse!

The apartment had balconies in every room and a view on both sides, which was practical and pleasant. The yard’s small terrace was another nice spot, set up with the kitchen equipment, dishes, and stove guests need. Everything there was clean and well kept, though of course that also depends on the guests. For the price of a 2-star guesthouse, we got 4-star hotel service: daily cleaning and trash removal, even when it wasn’t needed, plus large, clean, well equipped rooms. The host was kind and made us feel very comfortable, even though she speaks neither English nor Romanian. The place itself doesn’t look like a 4-star hotel. The only thing that felt like 2-star accommodation was the bathroom. It was quite small, with a tiny-looking sink and a shower on the floor, but we knew about that beforehand. The location is near the center and beach, about five minutes to get where you want. The resort is superb as usual, though I noticed the beach was at least 10m wider two years ago. It’s awful that even the Bulgarians are starting to have problems with the beach. I recommend it 100%. One small aside: apart from cigarettes, prices are noticeably higher than in Romania. For example, the cheapest pint of beer in Eforie, Romania, costs 4lei, while in Bulgaria it’s 3 leva.

The beach and town center are both close by, and they always manage to find somewhere to park your car. The rooms are clean, the people are friendly, and it’s a great choice for a family with kids. Everything was lovely.
