Funky Monkey Hostel

The balconies are the best part, with lots of spots to sit and enjoy the sun or moon. The largest one on the top floor has awesome views of the "tepeta". I've stayed here on my last four trips to Plovdiv and have had a consistently great experience every time. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are clean and well maintained. We've always used the clean, newly furnished dorm rooms, which have lockers for everyone. I'd recommend this place every time!

The monkey theme runs through the interior and makes the hostel quite unique. It's reasonably priced, and the location is good, near the old town and Kapana. The owner or staff man was nice, though a little abrupt. Some facilities feel outdated, but the showers were excellent, hot and powerful. All in all, not a bad place to stay.

The hosts were wonderful, especially Kristina. When I was ill, she looked after me with so much kindness and care. The rooms were lovely and clean, and the decor was quirky. The hostel was in a perfect location.

The place is fine, a typical hostel, and cheap enough. I'd recommend it for the experience. The hostel itself is maybe 3 stars, or 2.5, but the staff member was nice and gave us good advice. He even ran over to help us through the city.
