The room itself was fine, nothing special, but nothing wrong with it either. We first booked three nights, then added two more. Mitko made sure we had umbrellas, enough tea, somewhere to park, and a place to dry our wet jackets. He helped plan day trips by car and explained public transit and the town layout. At a small hotel like Roots, it may be easier to be personal, but he went well beyond what I’d expect and became part of our Plovdiv experience. I’ll consider nowhere else when I return.

Mitko was incredibly friendly and ready to help with anything. The place is clean and has the basics you need, right in the old town everyone wants to see when visiting Plovdiv. We had a great stay and recommend visiting this hotel.

I was in Plovdiv to see concerts at the ancient theatre, and the location was great for getting there. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed as a solo traveler for the price. Mitko was attentive and helpful, sharing local tips and marking places to visit on a map. The breakfast was great, and he always made sure I had what I needed.

The owner was super friendly, and the hotel had secure, very nice rooms in a perfect spot for enjoying the old city. His tips helped us avoid wasting time in the wrong places and made the trip more enjoyable. It was a five-star experience for me. If I come back to Plovdiv, this is definitely where I’ll stay.

Mitko set a standard I haven't seen in all my years of staying in hotels and Airbnbs. He made breakfast, drove us across town to the festival, and even brought us back at 1 AM. He was ready to help with anything, and his attitude was unmatched. Next time we're in Plovdiv, we're staying at Mitko’s Roots hotel again. Thanks, Mitko!
