California Apartment

The apartment was quite dirty, though the bathroom was spacious. The location is top, just a breath from the beach. Book a room with a view if you can, otherwise you’ll be looking straight at the neighboring building, close enough to be one hand away.

The location is excellent, right on the beach, with a great sea view, and having parking is a real plus. That’s where the positives stop. The apartment was impractical and extremely dirty, with poor upkeep: old, worn furniture, sagging beds, broken blinds, and torn door frames. One air conditioner barely worked, and the mosquito nets seemed as good as missing. The shared areas looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in at least a year. The building seems to have been designed and built by “professionals” who don’t understand their job. The elevator cabin is only 60 by 70 cm, too small for two people of normal height to ride together. I wouldn’t come back.

The coastside location is very good, but that’s the only plus. Our apartment was filthy and seemed not to have been cleaned in a long time, with dust everywhere. There were even cobwebs on the wall and ceiling in the TV room, clearly old ones. The bathroom was very dirty too. Someone had left a moldy towel on the kitchenette, apparently used to wipe something. Hygiene was beyond criticism. They didn’t change the sheets or towels, and unless we’d asked the maid, they wouldn’t even have left us more toilet paper.

Sea breezes are always coming through this quiet, peaceful place.
