Perla Gold & Perla Luxury

We spent 5 nights in room 402 with our one-year-old. The room was spacious and clean, and so was the bathroom. From the top floor, the view of the beach and pool was perfect. The hotel is near the beach, and a nice breeze each day helped us get away from the heat. Food was all inclusive, with something different and fresh every day. The managers and staff were so kind. We highly recommend the place and will come back. It's a beautiful place to relax. The four-level building has a tall glass-filled entrance that makes it feel like a high-rise. There are 3-meter-high palms in the lobby, which looked impressive at night while we had a fresh drink. Parking is provided in booked spaces along the side, with enough room for your car.

The way we were treated after raising the booking issue was cold and unwelcoming. Staff were dismissive and told us to contact the agency ourselves. The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional, saying she was in a hurry and wouldn't take a moment to talk properly. We booked Perla Beach Luxury Hotel, but were put in the basic Perla Beach Hotel instead, a completely different and much lower-quality building. The rooms, restaurant, and facilities were nothing like what was advertised. It was very disappointing to be treated this way just for asking to receive what we'd booked. The whole thing felt misleading from the start, and the service was among the worst we've experienced on a holiday. Definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The rooms at Hotel Perla Luxury (formerly Gold) are spacious, the sea view is lovely, and the beach is very close. Still, I hardly enjoyed my stay and wouldn’t recommend coming back. The staff made it difficult. Housekeeping mostly swept the floor, left the bathroom uncleaned, and didn’t top up toiletries each day. I had to search the hotel for a cleaner just to get shower gel. Beds were left unmade, and linen wasn’t changed even when it looked dirty. They did find time to fold towel flamingos on those beds, though. Towels were changed only once a week, and mine were stained. The lobby bar was another problem. Staff played loud music all day, so sitting in the lobby was unbearable. The bartender, whose name was Barte or something similar, turned it up extremely loud and laughed at guests when they looked over in surprise. Meals were okay but repetitive, and it seemed like new dishes were made from leftovers to save money. Lunch hours were too short. The hotel may meet five-star requirements, but it felt more like a three-star place to me.
