Perla Plaza Hotel

My wife and I were here for the first time, and we were happy with our room. It’s a cozy hotel with a vintage look, near the beach. I liked the bathroom, it reminded me of home in Luxemburg. The maids are a bit funny and shy when they spot you in the room. The restaurant, bar, and reception have the coolest people, always polite, friendly, helpful, and welcoming you with a smile. Kris at reception especially stood out. They care and try to sort out any problems quickly. We’d come back another year. 🙂

There’s a lot of shopping in town, an amusement park within walking distance, and Belvidere down the street looks amazing. The beach itself is beautiful, though a bit far, and you have to pay for all the sunbeds and umbrellas. The pool was small but clean and refreshing, with plenty of shade from well-placed trees. There weren’t enough lounge chairs. Our travel agent said we could use facilities at the sister hotel across the street, but that turned out not to be possible. Most reception staff were pleasant, except for the young man. The dining room staff were hardworking and helpful, and the food was adequate, though the kids hated it. The bartender was lazy, rude, and unhelpful. Our room was dirty, with issues in the shower, lighting, and maintenance. Every window in the building looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in ten years. The town’s streets and sidewalks were filthy and need replacing.

An inexpensive option for people with modest expectations. The dining room is nicely furnished, and there’s a clean pool with sun loungers and an outdoor bar. Our room’s air conditioning was noisy but worked. The hotel is close to a nice beach.

The rooms felt cozy and had a modern design, and I’d recommend this place for a nice holiday. The pool water was a bit too cold, though it was refreshing in the hot weather.
