Family Hotel Bohemi

The only things I liked were that the male owner carried my heavy suitcase to the first floor and that there was plenty of hot water. The hotel was overpriced for what it offered, and the dirt road leading to it didn’t help. The lady owner seemed angry throughout our stay, and I felt like an intruder in her home. Our room door was hard to open, and once locked from inside with the knob, it wouldn’t unlock. Reception took 15 minutes to answer my call. The owner came to the door and said it was locked, though I showed her the knob turned freely without releasing it. She went back for the spare key, even though I’d already told her it wouldn’t open, then insisted there couldn’t be a problem because previous guests had managed. I’ve never met such an unpleasant and rude hotel owner. We’d paid extra for the advertised breakfast, but it was awful. The pancakes were rubbery, perhaps reheated from the night before. The tiny piece of ham looked like something even my dog wouldn’t touch, and the small portion of processed cheese was cut into three strips, perhaps just to fill the plate. The butter was poor quality margarine, the jam was flavoured jelly, and the honey didn’t seem to come from bees. We each got one apricot. It was a poor imitation of a continental breakfast. The offer, including breakfast, was worth about 45 leva. I recommend skipping the food because of all the fake ingredients, which could probably give you cancer. I do NOT recommend this hotel. Find somewhere else to stay, in a different area, and if possible don’t eat here.
