Hotel Cosmos

We arrived late and were glad someone was there to let us in. The rooms were very clean and mostly good, though the beds were hard and each double bed had only a single-person comforter. Breakfast wasn’t worth the price. It was a set meal in an old-fashioned Communist style, maybe a treat if you’re nostalgic. The coffee was tiny, and they brought just two small pitchers of milk for three people, then wouldn’t give us more. “Fruit” meant one apple each. It wasn’t a buffet, and there were no breakfast options for kids.

The room was quiet even though the area gets busy during the day. It was lovely, with a spacious bathroom, and the breakfast was great and filling. We liked the hotel from the moment we arrived. The receptionist was friendly and helpful.

I won’t stay here again, even if it were free. We needed to book a train that was leaving soon, but the train site had no English option. We politely asked the front desk woman if she could help for 30 seconds. She seemed miserable and angry, and said it wasn’t her problem and we could use a translator. She also said that people come to her country and don’t care about speaking the language. This was Tuesday, Oct 29th, at 13:00. The woman was just awful. The location is right behind the train and bus stations, so it’s ideal if you need to be near the train. The rooms are fine, though a little overpriced, and the mattress was hard as a rock. There’s absolutely nothing close by, so you’ll need a cab to get anywhere.

The staff were efficient and very helpful, even arranging a taxi to take me across the border. Breakfast came from a set menu with four choices. The hotel is reasonably priced and in a great spot near the station, and I’d happily stay again. My room was clean and comfortable, though not luxurious. I took off a star because the bathroom soap dispensers were empty.
