Residence House Ruse

The prices were really good, and if you book one of the more luxurious suites you could have a wonderful night here. I chose based on price, and if I remember correctly, it was the cheapest four-star hotel I’d stayed at. The hotel was new, in a neighborhood of old Soviet-era buildings. It’s clean and quiet in the street, closer to the Danube than the center. There was no minibar or fridge, and the air conditioning wasn’t really blowing cold air. Since it was quiet outside, I could turn it off and open the window.

The staff were fantastic, and the rooms felt lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was really nice too. I’d happily recommend it.

We were a short walk from the city center, with restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The staff did everything they could to make us comfortable, and we’re grateful for that. We’d definitely return. Our luxurious room had two levels, with a private balcony wrapping around the whole building and lovely views of Ruse and the Danube river. There was even a dining table upstairs. The bed was comfortable, the shower had strong water pressure, and we had free WiFi, water, and espresso. The three air conditioning units in the room worked very well. Breakfast was small but good. Coffee and espresso were available, though there were no vegan milk alternatives. Laundry was available for a small fee.

The room was tiny, but cozy and pleasant, and the whole property was very clean. It’s about a 4-5 minute walk to old town, a little farther than some nearby hotels, and just 2-3 minutes from the entrance to the park along the Danube River. The rate is incredible if you’re paying in USD, GBP or Euro. The managers were warm and welcoming, and the service was wonderful. I was even offered a small cup of warm local tea, which was just right. Highly recommend.
