Sana Ski apartment 620 in Flora, Borovets

At 150bgn a night, I wouldn’t come back. The bathroom is a nightmare if you’re over 1.60m tall, and I can’t see how you’re meant to shower unless you bend down. The hotel has plenty of other downsides too.

The salads served at every meal were outstanding, which is what earned the two stars. Otherwise, this felt like a 70's time capsule, and the cleanliness standards weren’t great. If you want a 4* hotel, stay somewhere else.

The apartment itself was decent, with good facilities and a handy position for the gondolas. But it’s in a large complex run by several different organisations, and getting help was a miserable experience. On arrival, the receptionist rudely told us to look for our key “on the corridor” and pointed around the corner, but it wasn’t there. When we said so, she brushed us off with “it’s not my problem.” She was rude and obstructive again when we called the owner, and generally no help at all. Customer assistance clearly wasn’t her priority. If anything goes wrong, don’t expect support from the people on site. Would I stay again? No, not even if the planet’s safety depended on it. Sorry.

The bedroom light didn’t work, which was a downside, but we’ll definitely book again. It’s a cosy, warm two-storey apartment with a nice little kitchen and accessories.
