The pool area was pleasant, and the kids spent hours swimming and playing table tennis. The reception, lounge and bar were nice, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. The woman behind the bar was especially welcoming. We stayed five nights as a skiing group, with three rooms, and all were perfectly adequate: clean, warm, tidy, with plenty of hot water and fresh towels. The rooms look a bit dated, but that's about it. Breakfast was fine, with hot and cold choices and unlimited tea and coffee. It's a short uphill walk to the gondola and main high street. Early Sunday morning there was some noise, probably from a hotel nightclub we hadn't known about, but it stopped fairly quickly and some of us didn't hear it. We'd stay again, even though we're a pretty fussy group. I've stayed in much worse Hilton, Novotels and Best Westerns in the UK and Western Europe. I can only assume some poor reviews are about the privately owned apartments upstairs, rather than the hotel itself.
