Park View Studios

The room was clean, the surroundings were very nice, and the beds were good. But it felt like the owner wasn't interested in us as guests. We were there for 11 days in October, and the tiny kitchen had just one scratched pot and pan, almost no utensils, no tea cup, and a toaster that wasn't usable. There was only one roll of toilet paper and nothing to clean the room with except an unusable broom on the balcony. We brought our own trash bags. We had four towels for two people, and ended up using one as a dish towel. There's no lounge chair, so if the weather's bad, you're left sitting on the bed. The owner should provide floor-cleaning supplies, tea cups, a new pan and pot, a grater, and other kitchen equipment. These things are very cheap in Bulgaria. When we left, the owner only wanted to know if we'd paid. I'd recommend the place for one or two nights. Maybe booking directly instead of through a travel agency was a mistake, and the owner didn't expect us to leave a review.

We chose these studios partly because of the good reviews, but later found out they hadn't realized a studio was occupied for our dates. The room is large, though the bathroom is very small, and I have a concern about the cleaning. The terrace is so small that two people have to stand up to be together. The studios are above the park, but reaching it means going down about 80 stairs, then climbing them again to get back. That's no problem if you're 20, but with health problems or difficulty getting around, you're stuck in the room or reliant on taxis. A taxi comes right away, but the driver gives you a sour look if the fare isn't much. In short, I wouldn't recommend it.

The view was beautiful, and the location was great. Good value for the money, too.
