Saint Mina Hotel

The location is great, close to everything, and the price was very good. Still, that’s no excuse for how poor the hotel was. Our room wasn’t cleaned during the four days, the trash wasn’t taken out, and we didn’t get fresh towels. The bathroom was awful, and the water kept switching between hot and cold when someone in another room used theirs. You could hear every conversation outside the room. I don’t recommend it! 🙂

The one real issue was a persistent odd smell, probably from dampness. It wasn’t overpowering, but it was there, and others have mentioned it too. I hope the manager can sort it out. The room gets 3 stars from me for that, while the property overall gets 4. Otherwise, it’s a handy budget option if you want to be close to just about everything and have an inner courtyard to relax in. We had a room with its own balcony and an extraordinary view straight out to the sea and Central Beach. The courtyard was great for coffee, beer, and a chat. Our room had two beds, simple useful furniture, working air conditioning, and enough power outlets for our devices. Natasha was extremely polite and friendly. She even called ahead to check whether we’d arrive on time, so she’d know if she needed to prepare for check-in. The location is excellent, about 700 meters from both the Old City and New City, and two minutes from Sozopol’s Central Beach. Across the street there are two ATMs and a 24-hour shop selling alcohol and tobacco, which we needed. Parking is available in front of the property for a fee, which seemed reasonable to me for keeping the car nearby.

Great value for a spot this convenient. The rooms were clean and newly furnished, and the hosts were caring and helpful. The woman hosting us, who I assume is the owner, waited for my late flight to arrive and was still there at 12:30 at night.

It’s a disgusting hotel. The rooms are literally just three beds. The food is OK maybe 30% of the time, and the staff are nowhere near polite. I’ve never stayed somewhere where the cleaning lady does nothing except move things around and tell you that you broke them.
