Zara Apartments

I sent the owner this feedback and heard nothing for four days. Then, an hour after I posted my review, he called and said he'd break my face if he saw me again. I told him to calm down and reply that the renovation was overdue or something. Given that, I'd avoid this place because of the aggressive owner. The room matched the photos and was a good price, and the location was handy for breaking up our drive to Greece. But the owner didn't mention the renovations when we spoke twice and exchanged messages. Everything outside the room looked like a construction site, as the photos show. The A/C units were dirty inside and seemed to have no freon, since they didn't cool. Poorly maintained units can be a source of disease. There was also evening noise from workers staying on site, with music from several places and lots of balcony chatter. We slept fine because we were tired, but not every guest will. I appreciate that an investment is being made there, but guests should be told about the situation. Unless you can make sure these issues have been resolved, I'd avoid the place.

The apartments are modern and well priced, and the owner speaks English, which helped us a lot. The area is secure, with secure parking and a front locked gate that uses a code. Most things were clean and tidy, though the sofa had a few marks, so I'd give cleanliness 4/5. I'd come back if I'm in the region again.

Everything was nice and clean, with all the essentials, and we liked the place. We paid 100 leva for one night in an atelier for the two of us, which felt a little expensive. The location was good, and there’s a parking lot in the backyard.

There was a strong mold smell, food scraps left in the oven, a poorly washed bathroom, rusty items and dusty carpets. It didn't seem like there was any cleaning. We stayed here twice, and the first room was okay, but the second visit put me off coming back.
