Diamond Bay - Menada Apart-Hotel

We spent one night and won’t be back. It’s an all inclusive hotel, but there were no welcome bottles of water in the rooms. Breakfast was very basic. To me, it seemed like a low cost hotel for people with a limited budget.

The animation team were the only good part, helpful and polite. The service was very poor, and staff were rude. We asked for a late check out and were told the hotel was fully booked, even though we offered to pay fully for the room and could see rooms available on booking.com. They took our bands off us, so we couldn’t eat or drink at the hotel, though nobody else had theirs taken. The food was very poor, so we ate out every night. Our room was shocking and wasn’t the one we’d asked for, and the air conditioning didn’t work. Wouldn’t even give the hotel one star.

Breakfast was good, but aside from salads and vegetables, the food wasn’t good, so we ate out for lunch and dinner during the last few days. The only real plus was the pool. We were given a dirty, mouldy room in terrible condition. We had come on holiday with my son after surgery, and even after we told reception immediately, nothing changed and they showed no willingness to help. The toilet leaked across the bathroom for our entire stay, with no response from the hotel. Our room faced a busy road at the front, and it was noisy even at night. For a 4* hotel, I found it very poor and wouldn’t recommend it based on my experience.

The room’s air seemed dusty or mouldy, and it gave us sore throats, especially at night. That took a little shine off an otherwise pleasant week at the end of May. The food and drinks were excellent, with a good range of tasty meals and a satisfying beverage selection. Staff worked long days with smiles right into the evening. The animation team also deserves credit for putting on fun activities every day. We’d consider coming back.
