Galeon Residence & SPA Hotel

The beach is under a 5-minute walk away, and the pool was clean. The sunbeds could use a wash, though hotel pool towels are provided and cover the dirty spots. Our room was clean and ready right at 14:00. Earlier would have been nice, but it was mid-season and the hotel was fully booked. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, and I'm very happy we chose this place.

The restaurant food was wonderful, and the chefs deserve credit, but the restaurant staff were rude and seemed unwilling to serve people. It's a shame, because that kind of treatment puts customers off returning. The hotel has large, comfortable rooms cleaned daily, tasty breakfasts and a large, comfortable pool. The sea is a five-minute walk away, and the hotel restaurant has a lunch menu.

The room was in such poor condition that it seemed not to have been cleaned after the previous guests. There was dust on the surfaces, sun cream on the mirror, linens and curtains, and leftovers still in the room. I also saw mold inside the air conditioning unit, which worried me about hygiene and health. When we reported it, staff checked and said this was “normal.” Later, the cleaner tried to hide the leftovers instead of removing them or properly cleaning the room. It felt careless and disrespectful. Parking was another frustration. We were repeatedly told there was no space for us, yet every day we saw several empty spots right outside Galeon Hotel. That inconsistency added to the impression of poor management. The location is close to the beach but away from Sunny Beach's busiest streets. The pool was acceptable for a quick swim, and breakfast was decent. Still, those positives couldn't make up for the cleaning problems, dismissive response and confusing parking information. Based on our stay, I can't recommend it as a five-star hotel.

Reception staff were rude and didn't try to find solutions when problems came up. The hotel doesn't have enough parking, and guests have to pay extra to use it even when staying there. The rooms don't look like 5-star rooms either, and there's a boiler in the bathroom in 2025. For me, this was an unpleasant stay at an overrated hotel, and the reception staff's behavior left a lot to be desired.
