Hotel Karolina

The buffet ended up being a highlight for me. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast, dinner and tea, with local and international dishes like Banitsa and fish and chips, plus free ice cream. Some breakfasts repeated, but the food was good, and the chef outside made hot meals. I saw complaints about the food in other reviews, but I disagree. If you eat outside, cats may sneak in. We liked the pool best in the morning when it was quieter. Our family room for four was small, though it had a fridge, TV, shower and the essentials. Housekeeping came every day, and the cleaner was lovely. The buffet waiters were quiet but did their jobs well. There wasn't much for kids to do, though there were indoor and outdoor bars serving pop and beer. The location worked well for us, about 10-15 minutes on foot from the beach, with lots to do nearby. The bus stop is close, and a ride for four to Old Nessebar costs 5 lev. The land trains also stop outside and go to the Sunny Beach centre or Old Nessebar. Pirates of the Caribbean water park is nearby, at 70 lev per person, but it's quite small. We preferred Aqua Park Nessebar, which we visited last holiday in 2024. It was good, though my brother broke his glasses and my dad and I fell off a ring during a waterslide ride. There are lots of shops around, and the Irish pub Father Teds served really good food. Watch for all the electric trikes and scooters. Our balcony view wasn't much, mostly other hotels, though you could just about see the sunset. The service was great, and I'd recommend staying here.
