Hotel Shipka Beach

The staff in F&B were amazing. Two of the women there did a brilliant job. Breakfast was passable for a buffet, though it could have been better, especially when the hotel was full and there wasn’t enough for everyone. Parking was included. At first, the stay was disappointing. We’d agreed on one price, but the receptionist asked for another and gave us separate beds even though we were a family of three. He was rude because the booking had been made by a colleague who’d since been dismissed, but that wasn’t our concern. The manager had poor manners and negotiation skills, though he eventually accepted the hotel was at fault and offered a substantial discount. We’d paid for breakfast and dinner, but dinner stopped being served after the 31st, and nobody had told us. Hygiene was poor, and it was hard to communicate in English with the maintenance staff. The bathrooms felt like prison cells and the fixtures were dated. Wi-Fi was terrible and only worked in the lobby.

The beach is just a two-minute walk away, and the location is good. Our room terrace looked out over the sea, and the rooms were clean. The staff were lovely. The only thing I disliked was that there wasn’t anywhere to charge a phone beside the beds.

We had a wonderful stay as a big family, with everything we needed and more taken care of. The guard staff were extremely helpful, and cleanliness was a 10/10. The beds and pillows were comfortable.

For reasonably priced accommodation of normal quality, this was a good choice, as long as you’re not expecting five-star standards. The hotel is right next to the beach, which is the best part. Dinner came with soup and fruit, and there were two main dishes to choose from. Hotel guests can also play mini golf for free.
