The room had some serious maintenance problems: the air conditioning heated instead of cooling, the safe didn’t work, the bidet hose was broken, and the elevators malfunctioned constantly. The light switches turned on two or three lamps at once, the mosquito net didn’t keep mosquitoes out, and the TV looked ancient. In the lobby restroom, the light switched off every 20 seconds, so you had to wave your arms to turn it back on. Cigarette smoke from people on the balconies below also poured in whenever we opened our window. We weren’t given toiletries beyond a tiny liquid-soap dispenser, and when we requested another blanket, we were told there weren’t any. The bed was okay, but the sheet was too small and kept coming off at night. Housekeeping barely happened: we left the please-clean sign out, and someone brought towels but didn’t clean the room. At dinner, we asked for Caesar dressing on three separate nights and got mayonnaise twice. The menu seemed to shrink each day, and my carbonara arrived in a plastic container and was clearly microwaved. One evening waitress was especially unpleasant and interrupted us while we were eating to ask whether we’d pay by card. She was rude and passive-aggressive. Another restaurant worker judged what we chose to eat, and the restaurant hours seemed to change without notice. I asked reception if it was open, they looked over and said yes, but once we sat down the waitress said it was closed. The drinks were questionable too, with strange bits floating in the Fanta and Sprite. The mayonnaise tasted like nothing, and sometimes there was no ketchup at breakfast. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. Most staff seemed untrained and uninterested, but one young waiter with short hair was genuinely kind and professional. The hotel has potential, but management felt chaotic and most staff need proper training. We stayed two weeks and were hugely disappointed. Breakfast and that one friendly waiter were the only positives.

Other choices in this location are far better, so I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place. The dining room couldn’t fit everyone, and guests were asked to come back later to get a table. Dinner was included, but drinks weren’t, not even water. We had to argue to get our sheets changed more often than once every four days, since rooms weren’t cleaned regularly. The happy-hour offers were misleading. It feels like a once-good hotel has turned into an unpleasant money trap.

We’re here for ten nights, and I just want to get on the plane home. The food itself is good, but they bring everything at once, so you feel rushed and have to eat the hot dishes first. The beach is filthy, food and drinks are overpriced, and nearby supermarkets are closing down. It’s been raining constantly, and I can’t even find milk nearby for coffee. Having to ask the bar for a jug of milk every day is ridiculous. The pool bar plays music to itself, there are hardly any English TV channels, and the 100 levs they took at check-in to cover damages felt extortionate. It’s far from Sunny Beach, though it’s close to the Bus Station if you want a change of scenery. DO NOT COME HERE IN OCTOBER.

A special thanks to DIMITAR, who was professional from the start. He even contacted me on WhatsApp before we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed. He speaks perfect Hebrew, which was a great help, and was always smiling and ready to assist. We were on an all-inclusive stay, and the bar and snacks were awesome. The meals were good, the staff were kind and very helpful, and the location is great.
