There was an English menu, and the staff were very friendly, with good advice about what to order. We had some of the best food of our two weeks in Bulgaria, at very good value: under £15 for a two-course meal with drinks for two. Add the fabulous river view and great food choice, and it was brilliant!

Our booking through a hotel reservation website conflicted with the arrangements, so we agreed to stay in the nearby villa belonging to the property. It felt empty and inhospitable, with heating problems and no TV. The villa seemed more like a self-catering rental than somewhere suited to hotel guests, so the experience was only so-so.
