There wasn’t much cleaning: we found forgotten socks and a tracksuit in the room, and there was no soap in the bathroom. The card terminal wasn’t working, so we paid cash at check-in and didn’t get a receipt. After that, nobody was at reception.

The room seemed clean, and thankfully we couldn’t hear the trains, which I’d been worried about after reading other comments. The hotel is about ten minutes from the center, right by the bus and railway stations. The receptionists were kind and helpful, and breakfast was decent, though it was the same choice every morning. There were no towel hooks in the bathroom, which made it awkward to put anything down. Also, there were no “do not disturb” signs, and the maids tried to unlock our door every morning without knocking. It was really awkward.

The room was a good size, with a balcony and a splendid view. It had air conditioning, supplies, clean bedding, a wardrobe, and a small fridge. The carpet was clean too. I recommend it.

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Hilez. The rooms were clean and nice, the hosts were wonderful and always glad to help, and the espresso was excellent. I’ll definitely come back 🤩🤘🎉

The price charged on arrival without a reservation was higher than the price shown on Booking. They wouldn’t honor the difference.
