For what it costs, the room was wonderful, and the location is great. The good reviews are well deserved.

The rooms are a good size, and so are the bathrooms. Breakfast was perfect for me, even though I usually prefer Swedish buffets. If you visit, give the Bulgarian breakfast a try. The toast in it is really strange, but delicious at the same time. Very nice hotel!

The service was bad enough that I won’t stay here again. When we arrived in heavy rain, we were waiting in the seating area and wanted to take dry clothes out of our suitcase. Someone from reception immediately grabbed it without asking and tried to put it in the luggage room, even though the case was open. It was my suitcase, and they had no right to take it without asking. The Wi-Fi in the room didn’t work, the connection was weak, and the minibar wasn’t working properly. At checkout, we went to reception to return the keys. Someone then brought over the towels we’d used. They had a few small foundation stains, and the staff rudely asked, “What is this?” before throwing them on the ground. I tried to explain the stains weren’t permanent and that this was a used towel, but they told us to pay for it. I’ve stayed in hotels all around the world, from two to five stars, and never had anything like this happen. They actually tried to charge us for it. Terrible service and a low-quality hotel.

It’s a historic building, so the rooms are all different. We tried deluxe room (#34), which was spacious and had a nice view, and then standard double room (#32), which had enough room for two and the same nice view. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were cleaned daily, and the air conditioning, water, and internet all worked without trouble. At check-in, you get a bonus ticket for the casino downstairs. Breakfast has plenty of options and costs 10 levas. The receptionists were really nice and helpful. They let us look at the rooms before choosing one. My only issues were the air freshener smell and the lack of power sockets beside the bed, though there were enough sockets elsewhere in the room. For a PCR or antigen test, there’s a spot near the pier on the beach, about a 10-minute walk away. As of 04.11.2021, an antigen test cost 10 levas and was ready in 20 minutes.
