Gladiola

This was a one-star experience in a three-star hotel. For this price I didn’t expect luxury, but I did expect something decent, and it wasn’t. The rooms were small and bare, which made them feel dirty. The mini fridge was broken and filthy. The bathroom was fairly clean, but showering sent water all over it, and the TV was tiny. The restaurant was spacious but badly organized, with no more than four dishes plus a small selection of sweets. The self-service setup was so poorly arranged that we queued for 30 minutes to eat. You can only get soft drinks with staff help, even as an all-inclusive guest, and in the morning the coffee line took around 15 minutes. The so-called snack bar was poor too, so don’t expect anything special. The pool was acceptable and clean enough, but it closed at 5. The staff weren’t very welcoming. I chose to pay for parking at the hotel, but when I arrived the man at reception said there were no spaces without checking. I asked again on later days after seeing some spaces open up, but got the same answer: “we don't have any spaces available”. There are lots of “fines”, and checkout involved a long wait while they checked the room, something I’ve never had even at a 5-star hotel. Music from nearby clubs was too loud, and some people will find it hard to sleep.

We had an amazing time and will definitely go back. The staff were really nice and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the food was very good. It’s a very nice hotel in a perfect location.

The staff were brilliant and sorted out a problem really quickly. But the Wi-Fi isn’t included, which is odd, and the breakfast was dry. The rooms were unbelievable, in a bad way: 80’s aircon and an 85’s TV, as another review said. It’s clearly not all-inclusive if Wi-Fi costs extra. The pool is miniature and definitely can’t fit even a quarter of the hotel. Some parts of the hotel are dirty, and the rooms smell of toilets. One side of the hotel has a great view of… trees? You have to pay extra for parking and Wi-Fi, and the TV looks like it’s from the 90s with tubes. The air conditioning seems to be from the 80s. Meals mean a 30-minute wait in line. The elevator is broken and gets stuck with people inside. They told reception about it, but the staff were indifferent. Avoid Gladiola Star hotel!
