The rooms are cheap, and the owner is a friendly, helpful bloke. There’s a nice little pool too. The Wi-Fi doesn’t work, the bar was closed, and there’s no fridge or kettle in the room. Getting back from the beach can be a challenge: the hotel is on a small road off a much larger, very steep road downhill to the beach. You’ll need a taxi uphill unless you’re fit and used to hiking.

I never felt comfortable or safe during what was one of the hardest stays I’ve had. When I got from the airport to my room, there was no internet, and the staff’s lack of English made everything difficult. The owner was rude and dishonest, and another young man there lied too.

Finding the hotel was already difficult because the house number on Google Maps is wrong and they don’t have a proper picture. After we arrived, they didn’t provide the breakfast we’d booked, then argued with us for ages in a very impolite way. Everyone was unfriendly. I’ve never experienced such rude treatment at a hotel. It seemed like they weren’t interested in having guests. Never again, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The host is a charming, softly spoken man with a wry sense of humor and excellent English. There’s a small pool that’s great for cooling off before a superb dinner. It’s a lovely alternative to staying right on the beach: walk a short way up the hill and you’re away from the beachfront mayhem.

There’s everything you need to unwind, with beautiful nature all around. The owner speaks English, Bulgarian, and Russian. The room is spacious, and the view from the window is inspiring. There’s also a chic bar and a dining room. A wonderful hotel.
