Grifid Aqua Club Bolero

The animation team was a real highlight, with lively daytime activities and evening shows, but they never pressured anyone to join in. Thanks Bassem and Niki, Simo, Cloe. The beach was an easy short walk away and kept in great condition. We were back at Grifid Bolero for a second week-long stay, and the room was spotless thanks to the housekeeping staff, who did a great job every day. There was lots of food to choose from, and it all tasted fresh and delicious. The drinks were good, too, and the bartenders were friendly and quick. Everyone made us feel welcome from start to finish. Whether you’re going with, this hotel really has everything you need for a perfect holiday.

The food had lots of choice and the hotel was very clean. Most of the staff were friendly, but the lady at the noon snackbar where you get ice cream was very, very unfriendly.

The food and the people were great, but this was meant to be a child-friendly hotel. If your child still needs a stroller, you can’t get to anything because there are stairs everywhere and no stroller access. Really annoying!

We had a ground-floor room with a pool-view balcony. It looked old-fashioned, though the furniture seemed quite new. The cleaner was very nice and came every day. The food got repetitive, with much the same things day after day. The main restaurant by reception had a short, strict schedule, breakfast until 10am and lunch until 2pm, and you had to dress properly to eat there. By the pool there was a snack bar with late à la carte breakfast and a simple mini buffet lunch, plus pancakes from 3pm. Longer stays also entitled you to dinners on the terrace at the Bulgarian, Asian, Italian, and Fish theme restaurants. The Asian one was the best. I learned the chef was Indonesian, which may explain why it was so good. There were lots of Indonesian workers, who were helpful and friendly, more so than the locals. I was disappointed to find wet plates and bowls in the main restaurant that I had to wipe before using. Dimitar at reception, the one in the black coat, was especially helpful. Thanks! The beach is 50m from reception. The hotel isn’t right on the beach, but it’s close, across two small streets with almost no traffic. Grifids guests have a beach bar there. For two or three days the waves were really big and lifeguards put out a red flag, so it wasn’t safe for small kids to go in the sea. There are stairs all over the hotel, so it isn’t stroller friendly. The kids’ aquapark was nice. The adults’ aquapark had three good slides, but you need big floats and have to carry them all the way up. Sometimes there was a long queue and sometimes none, so it depended on luck. There’s also a simple kids club. The Animation team were really good at dancing, especially Bassem. They were friendly and clearly worked hard to entertain us. Good job! If you have a small child who needs to sleep at 8pm, that could be tricky, as the mini disco starts then and can be heard from rooms near the stage. It didn’t bother us much otherwise. Shows were also sometimes held at the bar salon on the other side of the pool, so you had to check whether the 9pm show was at the stage or there. The magic show was really good, too.
