Hostel Musala

Nothing about the stay went well. The bathroom smelled bad, the doors wouldn’t shut properly, and the rooms were dirty. There was pigeon droppings all over the balcony too.

When I phoned to ask about the price, I was first quoted more than twice what I saw on booking websites. I asked why the difference was so large and said I was concerned, but they just told me to find another hostel and hung up on me. Be careful of possible scams, and don’t trust people who dismiss your concerns.

The receptionist was always smiling and helpful, and everyone was extremely friendly, even though my room was on the men’s level. I stayed for three days and was completely satisfied. The rooms were just the right size and perfectly clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was very good. I can only recommend it.

We arrived around midday to find our shared-room beds heavily stained and not even made. The floor was visibly dirty, and the bathrooms were so disgusting that I didn’t use them. Mould and rust covered the showers, and the drains stank. The bed was across the room from the lockers, and the locker came loose, so it didn’t feel safe. The cleaner yelled at us for no reason at both check-in and checkout and was extremely rude. We left before the second night for family reasons, but they refused any refund. Avoid this place.
