Hostel Teracite

The tap water smells musty.

It went beyond what I expected. Great spot, new furniture, and everything was there. Much respect.

We were really happy with our four-night stay. The room felt like a roomy, cozy apartment, with everything needed, including a dishwasher and a fully equipped kitchen with all the utensils. The beach is only about 300-400 meters away, with hotel sun loungers, a few cafes, and a little shop nearby. The staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke Bulgarian, English, and Russian. A lovely place for a laid-back seaside break. We'd gladly return.

The hostel itself is nice, well equipped, and has a sea view, but the cleaning was extremely poor. On arrival, we found dirty, stained sheets covered in brown and long hairs, smelly pillows, and furniture marked with dirt and handprints. The kitchen, stove, and wall behind it were greasy, while the bathroom and toilet had visible signs of use and hadn't been cleaned or disinfected. There was dirt in the shower and on the floor, and the room floors had dust, sand, and bits of packaging. We noticed these serious problems late at night and wanted to leave at 23:55, but the children were exhausted, so we stayed until morning and told reception. Three cleaners came the next day and were upset, saying they'd cleaned before we arrived. After we showed them the sheets and pillows and the mess under the beds, they said nothing, changed the linen, and wiped the floor. That was where the room cleaning ended. This department is being managed very badly, and it could cost the hostel dearly. I've stayed in countless hotels in Bulgaria and never encountered anything this dirty. The experience left me feeling that the customers weren't treated with respect or common sense. I won't return.
