Hotel Horizont

We’ve stayed here a few times, so I knew roughly what to expect. It’s probably one of the cheapest hotels in sunny Golden Sands resort, and you get the best you can for the money. The food may be better than at many restaurants. It’s a family-run business, and they work hard to do their best, staying friendly, helpful, and willing to accommodate everyone. I’ll probably stay here again.

The staff’s politeness is what I’ll remember most. They were always available, handled everything, and smiled so much you rarely see that many smiles in one place. The food was excellent, with plenty of variety and generous portions. The location is good, with transport links and frequent departures. Rooms are simply furnished but big enough, clean and quiet, with everything needed. The large terrace has a wonderful view. It’s a rare combination of price and quality, and I recommend it.

You get what you pay for, and there are plenty of hotels to choose from nearby. This place is basic, with only a little renovation since the 60s, but it’s excellent value and I like the vintage feel. It’s clean, set on a hill in a pine forest, and five minutes from the sea. The food is very good. I find some reviews pretentious.

The pool and the fact that dogs are allowed are the only benefits I can point to. Rooms get hot because only some have air conditioning. Half the staff, especially the owner, are rude and arrogant with guests. The ads say there’s plenty of free parking, but cars are parked one behind another, and if you block someone, they may call at any time to ask you to move your car. Food is fairly varied, except breakfast.
