Nomado Hostel

The private room was great, and there’s a lovely outdoor picnic area. The kitchen had everything we needed for preparing and storing food. The only problem was a smell from the bathroom in the evening and early morning.

Great value for the price. Everything is walkable, people are friendly, and I met lots of interesting folks while I was there.

The downstairs dorms have no air conditioning, and that wasn’t clear when I booked a female dorm because the listing doesn’t say those rooms are downstairs. It calls the downstairs dorms “pleasantly cool” in summer, which is a joke. I got so hot I was dehydrated and couldn’t sleep. There was just one fan, which only pushed the warm air around. If you book a female dorm for safety, there’s no AC, and the more expensive private rooms downstairs don’t have it either. When I complained, the receptionist was rude and said nobody else had complained about the heat downstairs. I wasn’t given a full refund. Shortly after, I spoke to another woman who was upset about having no AC in her private room but didn’t feel confident enough to complain. The place was clean and quiet otherwise, the kitchen was well equipped, and it’s about a 20-minute walk to the beach. Still, the start of my trip was horrible. I think they’re dishonest about the air conditioning, and it’s awful that the mixed dorms have it while the female dorms don’t.

I had a really good 10 days here. It’s one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, and it has everything you need: a simple breakfast, fresh filter coffee and basic cooking supplies. The staff are helpful, and the owner is a great, hardworking person who always looks after guests. There’s a nice garden for smokers, good internet, comfortable beds, and it’s always clean. Easy to come and go. Thanks for everything.
