Villa Chinka by Astor Garden Hotel

We just got back from our holiday, and the service was fantastic. The food was generous and varied, and the staff were so friendly. The warm pools, both indoors and outside, were great. We gave the room three stars instead of five because it was on the ground floor facing the car park. The hotel was almost empty since we were there out of season, but they wouldn't give us a sea view room when we asked. They said all sea view rooms had only two beds and there were three of us. We asked for a folding bed, but the answer was still no, even though we were willing to pay extra. We'd still definitely recommend the hotel.

A great spot for an autumn break when you want to unwind. The rooms felt spacious and up to date, and they were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We enjoyed the restaurants too, the food was tasty and service was excellent, though prices were a bit high. I'd definitely come back.

The lobby is attractive, and access to Aqua House spa facilities is a real plus, but the stay was still very disappointing and not worth the cost. The mini-bar hinge was loose so the door wouldn't shut, and the bathroom lock only worked from inside. Both were fixed after we asked, though those are problems I wouldn't expect at a 5-star hotel. Noise was the bigger issue. The walls were thin enough that we could hear the TV next door. When we requested another room, staff said none were ready, despite the hotel seeming to be only 25-30% full at the end of September. The noise continued, and when we raised it, we were told we were "unlikely to sleep at that time anyway." It was 6pm, and we'd gone to bed at 5am that day. The reception staff were very rude, making this one of my worst hotel experiences. The A/C was also loud and woke us when it switched on at night. That needs fixing in a 5-star hotel. I wouldn't stay here again.

The spa made my stay at Astor Garden Hotel especially lovely. Nina did my body wrap and massage with real care and professionalism, and I felt completely relaxed. I also had an excellent facial from another lovely lady. My skin felt fresh, glowing, and well cared for afterward. Both treatments were skillfully done with kindness. I'd highly recommend the spa services to anyone visiting the hotel.
