Villa Piero

We were a family of three adults and two kids, and stayed at Villa Piero for three weeks. The discount we got at the end of the season made it a perfect fit for us, though the regular rate is a bit too expensive for our budget. The comfort and location made the discounted price feel right. The house is in Saint Constantine and Elena, within walking distance of the Town Center, shops, restaurants, the Monastery and Aqua House. The beach takes about 10 minutes on foot. For Varna, the bus ride is about 10 minutes, costs 1 lev and comes every 15 minutes. The stop is a three-minute walk away. We stayed in attic suite 19. It had a bedroom, living room, bathroom and two balconies, which were lovely for tea and snacks by day and stargazing at night. From them you can see trees on the Villa Piero grounds and neighboring gardens. The rooms and house have recently been remodeled and were comfortable and in decent condition. The corridors, dining room and suites have tasteful, imaginative modern paintings by a talented Bulgarian painter from the 90s. Wi-Fi was free and had good coverage, signal and download speeds, except for one provider-side outage that lasted a few hours. The bed linen was changed and the room cleaned every few days while we were out, with no issues. Constantine and Desislava were very friendly, keen to help and accommodated all our requests. Their family lives in a separate house on the same grounds, so they are easy to reach when you need help. The back part of the property isn't for guests, though, so the house is basically all the space visitors can use. I mention it in case anyone expects more outdoor space. I also wish there had been a little playground for the kids. We skipped the optional breakfast and either cooked or ate out, which worked well for traveling with kids on a budget. The kitchen and dining room downstairs are well equipped: a professional coffee maker, several fridges, a stove, microwave, cabinets, sink, dishwasher, water dispenser, lots of dishes and utensils, and three dining tables with chairs and couches. The coffee maker makes wonderful coffee, and you can learn to use it yourself anytime. Just keep a record for settling up later, since coffee costs 1,5 lev. Few guests cooked, choosing breakfast or nearby restaurants instead, so the kitchen and dining area never felt crowded. With only one microwave and stove, though, I can imagine it getting uncomfortable if several families wanted to cook. We bought our own food from nearby stores. The house provides water, a few snacks and the equipment, and visitors are responsible for the rest.
