Boliari Hotel

We got there at 8:40 PM and waited more than an hour, with nobody at reception. Calls and messages went unanswered. Other guests were waiting too, some outside, and eventually gave up. Someone from another hotel even came to check what was going on, shocked that there was no one on duty. With no communication or help, we had to cancel, but were still charged a no-show fee. Unacceptable and unprofessional. Avoid this hotel until it makes serious improvements.

The location is the one thing here that deserves five stars, but the room was dirty and dusty. The windows creaked as if they were open, and the remote controls had black spots on them. The AC fuses made such a terrible noise that we had to switch them off. There were spiders, a rusty fridge, and old joinery. The room was dirty, and what else...

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Bolyari, despite the bad reviews. The building is nice, the staff friendly, and the location central. Our quiet room, number 43, had an excellent view over the park. It was well equipped, the AC and TV worked, and everything was clean. Some furniture was old or less than perfect, but that didn’t bother us. For less than 150 lei / night, it was very good value.

The location is great, right in the center. That’s about all the good I can say. The rooms are gloomy, and the towels, curtains, and covers were worn and stained. I even found hair on the beds. The carpet looked dirty and pretty gross. The shower door wouldn’t close and seemed close to falling apart, and the douche leaked, with half the water running down the hose. I could overlook that in a one-star hotel or hostel, but three stars for this place is ridiculous. I wondered why it was so cheap, and now I understand. I’ve stayed in better hostels and private places nearby, and won’t come back. Sorry for the bad review. I usually try to be understanding, but this time I’m very disappointed.
