Family Hotel Silvestar

We had a terrible experience with the service. The WiFi didn't work, and the air conditioner only blew hot air. When we tried to raise these problems with the owners, they practically hung up on us. After more than 20 years of using booking, this was one of our worst experiences.

We were very happy with our stay. The staff were friendly, pets are welcome, and there's indoor parking. Tsarevets looks amazing from here, and both the fortress and old town are very close. I'd choose this hotel again if I return.

The host was excellent, and our room was clean. We also had a splendid view. The hotel is near the center and not far from the city fortress. We had a great stay, felt it was well worth it, and would come back.

I booked in good faith through booking .com, where the listing said reception stayed open until 23.00 for check-in. I arrived at 22.05 to find the place locked. Much later I learned reception had actually closed at 22.00, even though the front door showed 00.00 to 24.00. The listed telephone number didn't exist, so I was left with nowhere to stay and couldn't reach the hotel. After making lots of calls, I eventually found a mobile number and tried it, but nobody answered. I booked another hotel. About 35 minutes after my call, the hotel rang back and offered a number for a different hotel. By then I'd already sorted myself out, and I was far from happy.
