Lazar is an amazing host, so kind, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are quiet and peaceful with a really nice view. The Wi-Fi worked great for remote work when there were two guests, but struggled when more people were there. The shared bathroom was clean, and the shower had great water pressure and temperature. It’s good for a short, simple stay. I did feel some cleanliness was missing: the sheets were fresh, but the blankets in the cabinet clearly hadn’t been washed in a long time and smelled odd. There were spiderwebs in the corners and dust on the floors. There’s also no cooking option, just a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker, so the money saved on accommodation goes on restaurants. Still, it’s a really pleasant, calm guesthouse, and I’d stay again for a weekend :)

We only needed somewhere to sleep, and the sheets and towels were clean. The room was spacious, but nearly everything else felt greasy or dirty, with leftover food in the fridge and old shampoo and soap in the bathroom. The host was polite, and the price and old-town location were good. For me, it works for a one-night stop when there's no other choice, but the rest was disappointing.

A cheap, decent hostel in Veliko Tarnovo, with simple rooms for two or three and a nice valley view. The bathroom is shared by two rooms. Getting there by car is tricky because the streets are so narrow, so it’s easier to park a 5-10 minute walk away.

The rooms and shared bathroom were spotless, and the view over the Assenevs Monument was lovely. Hostel Pashov is centrally placed between Tsarevets Fortress and the town centre. Lazar, the owner, was kind and attentive, and his English is excellent, so communicating was easy. We’re really glad we picked this place and would highly recommend it.

Parking is hard to find, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, this is a lovely spot, with a pretty view, tidy rooms and a very friendly, helpful host. It’s an authentic old Bulgarian house on one of the nicest streets in Veliko Tarnovo, and the location is perfect.
