Ramee Palace Hotel

On our motorcycle trip from Switzerland to Oman and back via the VAE, we found the Ramee Palace Hotel and loved our stay. Ms. Nour, Ms. Chaimaa, and the whole team welcomed us warmly and made check-in easy. The daily room service was great too. Our room was spotless and quiet, and the bed was so comfortable, just right for recharging. Fresh food from room service was excellent, and a big plus for secure parking and high-speed WiFi. Many attractions, the beach, and malls are a short walk or taxi ride away. We’d clearly recommend it.

I’d seen a lot of negative comments on Google and was a bit unsure about staying here, especially after reading about security concerns. But my stay was comfortable and refreshing. The rooms were clean, cozy, and nice, with all the amenities available. Staff and reception were equally kind and humble. I didn’t try the food or the bar.

I’d stayed at this hotel several times before and always enjoyed it. Over the past few months, I spent a week there once and two days on each of four other visits. On my last stay, I checked in on the 14th and was due to check out on Friday the 16th at 2 PM. Things had been going smoothly, and the staff were helpful and welcoming until what happened just before checkout. A man opened my room door and entered the bathroom while I was naked in the shower, with several other people accompanying him. They told me to leave and threatened to throw my belongings out. I was shocked and yelled that I would call the police. In front of the staff, who looked very embarrassed by the manager’s actions, he said, “Do whatever you want. I'm not afraid of anyone.” You can check what he did to me or to my roommates in the room opposite. I was in room number 523. The porter and security guard with him were both from Bahrain and seemed upset and embarrassed by the manager’s disrespectful behavior toward guests. I left quietly to protect my reputation and health. I have chronic illnesses and didn’t want anything to happen to me after that humiliation. I’ve never experienced anything like it. It felt like dealing with a gangster. The hotel called me around 4 PM, two hours after I left, surprised that I had gone and asking about what the person who works there and claims to be in charge had done. He had acted as though he cared nothing about anyone, the law, or the police. He apologized repeatedly and asked me not to file a police complaint or contact them, saying what he had done was a crime that deserved punishment. He had entered a guest’s room and bathroom without permission while the guest was naked and showering. I still can’t believe this happened in a country with laws or at a hotel. Who authorized this person to treat guests this way? My room was 523, and the hotel has my details and contact number. I urge people to be cautious. The security footage can be reviewed, and staff can be asked about this person’s actions, which violated hotel and country regulations.

Usha and Mamun greeted me with huge smiles when I checked in at The Ramee Palace. Usha was busy handling other check-ins, but she kindly asked me to sit and wait. I’d booked a single king bed, but they had run out, so she upgraded me to a suite. It was a very nice stay apart from housekeeping: they didn’t leave towels or check the shampoo, and I had to ask for towels, body lotion, and shampoo.
