The Arch Hotel

After having fun at the club inside the hotel, we expected to head home after a wonderful day. Instead, security treated us disrespectfully. We were waiting in the lobby for transport so we'd be safe, when they suddenly pushed us outside. They touched me and pulled me through the door, which was completely inappropriate. I hope the owner sees this and understands how rude and ill-mannered the staff were with guests. This kind of employee reflects badly on the hotel and makes it seem cheap, since they can't treat guests properly.

Several times in the early morning, staff knocked on my door and disturbed me, so I couldn't rest properly. There was also a problem with the late check-out promised to me at check-in. I was unexpectedly told to leave earlier the next day, then told I'd have to pay extra to stay until the agreed time. When I explained that their own staff member had offered it, they asked me for the employee's name and proof. That points to poor communication and professionalism. I had a confirmed reservation, but on arrival my room wasn't ready and I had to wait. The stay showed weak organization and very disappointing guest service. Based on this, the hotel doesn't deserve more than one star.

The only real downside was the noise at night. There are nightclubs nearby, and the guests in the next room were loud until late. Still, I enjoyed my stay at The Arch Hotel. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They also let me store my luggage both before check-in and after check-out. It's a nice place if you can put up with some nightlife noise.

Breakfast was good, but I got less than two hours of sleep in the middle of a business trip and had meetings the next day. I was glad it was just one night. The room itself was nice, but there was no soundproofing from the several night clubs on different floors, where loud music played until 2am. After that, traffic, people shouting outside, and neighboring guests returning to their rooms kept waking me or stopping me from sleeping. At check-in, a 'lady of the night' seemed to be sitting by reception outside a nightclub entrance. With so few guests at breakfast the next morning, it definitely felt more like a party hotel. Don't expect a good night's sleep, especially if you're a light sleeper.
