It’s a lovely family-run place and good value for money. The biggest expense was eating at the family-run fish restaurant next door, “La Piroque.” It had one of the best fish dishes I’ve eaten this year (2025). My room had a double bed, A/C, TV, and WiFi, though there was no kettle. The bathroom had toilet paper and a hot-water shower, as well as a toilet. There are two shopping markets nearby, and ATMs and banks are within walking distance. There’s no garage, so cars park on the street, but there is 24-hour security.

The location is pretty decent, with an amazing seafood restaurant next door. There are also eateries and supermarkets within walking distance, along with an old graffiti wall and the main cathedral. The hotel itself felt like stepping into an ’80s time capsule, though not necessarily in a bad way. My room was okay, with a fridge and working WiFi. But there was no water in the morning. I was told it might have been a one-off. Mosquitoes kept me from sleeping well, even with the AC on. They seemed confused about my prepaid Agoda booking. After I explained that breakfast was included, there was some back and forth before I got an unappealing croissant and coffee. Apparently, that cost 3000 CFA. Really?
