Corallium Hotel & Villa's Bonaire

The canal views are lovely, and it’s a quick, easy drive from the airport or into downtown. A golf cart and employee take you from reception to your room. There’s a nice pool and a jacuzzi you can ask to have switched on if it isn’t already. The restaurant and pool bar shut much too early, at 5 PM, though downtown is only a short drive away. It’s a great affordable hotel, significantly cheaper than most hotels and Airbnbs.

Benjamin? No, Ben-The-Man! Ben was the front desk receptionist we dealt with. At check-in, Expedia and the hotel computers didn’t agree about our booking. He got us into an available room straight away, then looked into the mix-up afterward so we could spend our time enjoying the island. That evening, a generator in our building started making a loud beeping noise. Ben explained that when the power goes out, a technician has to reset the machine, or something along those lines. He offered us a larger room with an even better view, but we’d already settled in, and moving again with the kids would have been difficult. He kept us updated about when the mechanics would arrive. Both problems were outside his control, and he handled them with real professionalism and care. We also liked the hotel’s design, with its individual units, colors, and connecting pathway. The breakfast lady was fantastic too. We’d already been on the island for four days and found many people nice and somewhat hospitable, but more reserved and low-key than people on other island nations. Even the breakfast crowd seemed to be just going about their day. Some people say that’s how the Dutch are, though I can’t confirm or deny it. The breakfast lady was the first person whose energy, happiness, and warmth came through in her voice. I wish I remembered her name. She has a personality that fills a room and gets noticed. I wish both employees the best!

The staff are super friendly, and the bed was one of the best available on Bonaire. The location is perfect, within five minutes of the beach, airport, supermarket, and downtown. Definitely recommend.

We stayed April 19-22, 2025, and the staff and management deserve five stars. The property is beautiful and quiet, our room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Of course there are birds and iguanas, it’s an island after all. I have no complaints about the food on the property. For ordering in, you have to use WhatsApp, and the staff were very helpful with that. They also made restaurant reservations for us at some beautiful places. There’s a small snack section where you can buy things, and staff explained that the tax is a dollar per day, payable at the end of the stay. I had an amazing time in Bonaire.
