Fairmont Southampton

The grounds are picturesque, and the Ocean Club beach is beautiful. Boundary, the sports bar, was really nice, with good food and excellent service. We also went to the coffee shop often, where there were lots of gluten-free options, though we wished it stayed open later. The onsite restaurants are expensive, and service at Jasmine lounge was below average on two of our three visits. We spent a week here and had an excellent experience overall. Everyone at reception and the concierge desks was friendly and helpful. The shuttle drivers were great too, and on our last morning they took us up to watch a lovely sunrise. I wasn’t keen on the giant flock of ducks out front, but plenty of other guests enjoyed feeding them.

We enjoyed our stay, and the hotel was generally very clean, with quite large rooms. The golf course is beautiful and well maintained. Being close to Horseshoe Beach was my favorite thing about the location, though getting to the beach, or anywhere else nearby, meant taking a shuttle. We walked to a nearby bar, but there wasn’t much sidewalk. I just wish the beach were easier to reach.

The room service was on point, and the hallways and neighboring rooms were mostly quiet. I also recommend the scuba diving lesson and experience, which were affordable. The hotel shuttles to amenities like the beach and golf course came often and were clean. Fairmont Southampton beach is right beside famous Horseshoe Bay, and both are great. The golf course scenery is lovely, and don’t underestimate its par 3 holes, the elevation makes for tricky shots. The restaurants were excellent across the board, and the weekend live band was a great way to spend an evening when there isn’t much else to do after dark. The pool stays open 24/7, so a nighttime swim was relaxing and romantic. I booked two rooms that weren’t together, but the staff arranged connecting rooms for me. The concierge was courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely helpful. The welcome staff were respectful and eager to help without seeming to expect a tip. I’m definitely coming back to Bermuda, and I’ll stay here.

The grounds were immaculate, there were lots of dining choices, and the free live music by the hotel lobby was good. Most of the team, from the concierge desk to the shuttle drivers, were friendly and caring. The room was very big and comfortable, with quality toiletries and good equipment, but it needed repairs. The balcony was filthy, including dust bunnies by the door. Jasmine lounge had the most disappointing food, though the other meals were pretty good. Could’ve been five stars with better room upkeep. I’ll come again.
