We loved the planned activities, especially Fire Pit Friday, and Solaris lounge had great cocktails and a TV for sports. The resort is pretty, with breathtaking views, and the daily breakfast and tea were a wonderful extra. If you book certain plans, they’re included, which helps on such an expensive island. The staff were so lovely and patient with all my questions. A few things didn’t work as well for us: the bathrooms had mold, the pool felt too small for the number of rooms even in the off-season, and the prettier pool was only for the residential side. The gym was just okay. Lunch and dinner prices are very high, though that’s true across the island, and the hotel isn’t near much, so transport adds up. There were ten of us, and a minibus cost about the same as the public bus, which stops across from the hotel. Bring anti-frizz serum, my hair was awful the whole trip.

We rented mopeds and bicycles from Oleander Cycles, right across the street, for the railway trail. The rooms were attractive and comfortable, and seemed to have been tastefully updated recently. We had an ocean-view suite with a great balcony for taking in the sights, sounds, and salty air. The pool and hot tub were nice, and there were complimentary kayaks and snorkeling. There’s also a comfortable outdoor seating area by the ocean with a fire pit. The food was wonderful. One of our best meals ever was at Solaris, the new fine-dining restaurant onsite, with inventive cuisine we really appreciated. We also had a delicious dinner at open-air Coconuts and got a gorgeous sunset with it. The friendly staff went out of their way to look after us. Sharamei, the patient and helpful reservation manager, helped us rebook after our original flight was cancelled. Sendin at Solaris was knowledgeable about food, attentive, and personable. Roydell was a lovely, friendly server at breakfast and dinner at Coconuts. Zyar, our warm and helpful bellhop, greeted us each time and proactively helped book a taxi to the airport. We’re so glad we found The Reefs. It’s a beautiful, small, family-run resort almost on top of the water, with the lovely surroundings and friendly people we enjoy. Great food is a bonus. We highly recommend staying here and hope to return many times.

At $800 a night, I expected more services and amenities. There was no poolside service, though there was a hidden phone by the pool you could use to call someone at Coconuts to bring something. Several beach umbrellas were missing pins and wouldn’t stay open. During the beach BBQ, the loungers and umbrellas were taken away at 4 pm while tables and chairs were set up right where guests were relaxing. The Reefs has a great location, a large private beach, and a small but adequate pool with lovely ocean views. The resort was clean, the staff friendly, and the food and service at onsite Solaris were very good. If you want a beach stay with beautiful views and a good restaurant, you’ll enjoy it. For higher-end amenities, you may want to look elsewhere. The views and pink sand beach are convenient, but the place felt expensive for what you get, though maybe that’s just Bermuda.

The weekend activities are fun, and the staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. The location also helps make the high price feel more worthwhile. Breakfast is free, but lunch and dinner are still extra, and it gets especially expensive. I wish they’d include lunch or dinner, or bring the prices down a little. Then this would be the best resort to stay at. For now, it isn’t my first choice.

Clear glass patio walls give you top-tier, magazine-cover ocean views from the rooms and restaurant. The live music is great, and the food and drinks are excellent.
