Aunt Nea's Inn

Faith was quick to reply whenever I messaged her, and the location is handy, right by a bus stop with a decent choice of food and a few cute shops nearby. The rooms are spacious, the air conditioning is great, and WiFi worked very well for me. But the cleaning really needs attention. I was there five days, and my wash rags were never replaced; fresh towels only showed up the day before I left. The floors needed sweeping, and the bathroom looked the same each day, as if it hadn't been cleaned. Dust and dirt had built up on the stairs in the common area, which also smelled of cats and cat food. On my departure day, a cat was sitting right on the counter. The animals should be kept in a designated area, since guests may have allergies. I wasn't comfortable eating there and went out for breakfast every day. For the price, the cleanliness wasn't good enough.

The women at the front desk were nice, but I’d spend my money elsewhere. There are better places nearby for the same price or less. The listing says “no pets allowed,” which is pretty ironic when there are two cats roaming all over, including the kitchen, where they sniff the food, bread and toaster, as well as the dishes. There’s cat hair on some living room couches and on the towels in the rooms, and there’s a large dog there too. If you’re allergic to cats, don’t book this place.

The staff were friendly, and both the rooms and grounds were lovely. From here it’s only a couple of minutes on foot to the center of St. George's, with its little boutiques and, surprisingly for such a small town, plenty of good restaurants, bars and cafes. Breakfast is continental, with things like local jams when they’re in season, and public transport is a two-minute walk away.

Aunt Neas was clean and affordable, and I really enjoyed my stay. The room had good AC. The location makes it easy to walk to sights like Fort Catherine, the unfinished church and the shops in St Georges. It’s also close to tobacco bay, which was the best snorkeling spot!
